Alabama Underpass Gets Light Show

We love when life’s everyday objects receive an artistic second life. Take this Alabama underpass, beautifully transformed into a colorful lightshow via artist Bill Fitzgibbons. Aptly named “Light Rails”, the underpass is lit using a computerized LED system and shines for all that pass by to enjoy.

“The installation created in collaboration with REV Birmingham is part of a master plan being developed by a team of local artists, designers and lighting experts, aiming to create a vision for liveliness, connectivity, community cohesiveness and a greater sense of security in Birmingham by illuminating key structures and pedestrian traffic points within the City Center and surrounding districts.”

How cool is that? We certainly advocate making life more colorful, especially in the darkest of places.
