Why That Color?
Have you ever sat around and wondered exactly why different colors are used in different spaces and on different product designs? We know that for decades each different color has had a specific meaning attached to it, but as we dug deeper, we have come to find out that a lot of corporations use color to evoke certain feelings – like an increase in appetite or the feeling of sophistication.
According to the ‘Psychology of Color’ infographic from PaintersofLouisville.com the color red is supposed to increase the appetite, blue increases productivity and suppresses the appetite, while black is used to create a feeling of sophistication and luxury.
Oh, and don’t paint your baby’s room yellow unless you want it to cry all the time. We should probably paint our offices blue now…
